TUOY
TUOY is a handheld vascular access assist device designed to improve venipuncture success in patients with difficult venous access, turning a highly variable clinical procedure into a more precise, efficient and humane experience. TUOY enabled its developers to move from an assistive concept to a clinically viable, scalable medical device, positioning the solution as a practical standard for improving vascular access outcomes in everyday clinical practice.
At IDEA Design Strategic Hub, the project was developed as a medical-grade device following a Compliance by Design approach aligned with ISO 13485 medical device development principles. Conceived as a natural extension of the clinician’s hand, TUOY integrates optical technology, precision ergonomics and seamless workflow integration. The result is a compact device that enhances visualization without disrupting standard clinical practice, improving both patient experience and operational efficiency.
