BIOIBERICA
Bioibérica had developed a highly effective biological attractant: Cera Trap®. A solution capable of controlling fruit fly populations without relying on insecticides, aligned with the shift towards more sustainable agricultural practices. But the real impact of this technology did not depend solely on its formulation. It depended on how it is deployed, how it behaves in real conditions, and how easily it can be integrated into the daily work of the farmer. Without the right system, the attractant risks underperforming in field conditions, reducing both effectiveness and adoption.
At IDEA Design, we approached this challenge from a system perspective. The goal was not to design a container, but to create a solution where product, attractant and user interaction operate as a single, coherent system. The result is a trapping system designed to maximise biological performance while simplifying production, handling and field deployment, successfully brought to industrialisation and market.
